Replacing wheel studs 89 Le Sabre
Im replacing the wheel studs today and i have to remove the caliper to replace the wheel studs right? Any things i need to know first? Ive got the 7/16ths wrench to fit the nut on the flex line and all but this caliper is unusual to me ive only replaced them on a chevy truck and a cavalier any help would be appreciated.

Why do you have to remove the capliper?? To get the rotor off I assume. You don't even need to do that. Just smash the old studs out and rotate the hub till they come out. P.S. -- I would use metrics wrenches.

 From your previous thread.Studs are easy to replace. Take a 1 lb ball peen hammer and knock the crap out of it. Then install a new one from the back side and use several washers and a lug nut to pull the new one in place. It helps to use an impact wrench for the install. Any tire shop should be able to do it for you for $5.00.

I went to a tireshop, and he said since i waited a week and drove my other car the wheel studs were rusted in nice and nasty. So he charged me 60 bucks to replace all 3 studs cuz it was an hour of labor BLAH, thanks for the help tho i did try to smash em out myself even with penetrating oil next time ill be more delicate with the wheel studs. Thanks for the replies, great board

 I bet the tire shop owner laughed all the way to the bank!!   I hope you at least told him he was full of crap concerning the hour labor & rust on the studs!!
