1999 Grand Cherokee leaking coolant
Hello All,
1999 Grand Cherokee with 140,000 miles and I noticed coolant leaking and found that the coolant recovery bottle was almost empty. So the dealership said the hoses needed to be replaced. Several weeks go by and I checked the coolant recovery bottle and again it was almost empty. I then filled the coolant recovery bottle and noticed coolant again leaking. This time I noticed it’s leaking from what appears to be a “pipe” sticking out of the passenger side or left side of the inside of the engine – looking under the hood it’s to the left of the oil filter against the firewall on the passenger side (if that makes sense). What is this “pipe”? and why would coolant be leaking from it? I couldn’t find any diagrams in the owners manual and am trying to find out what it is. Thanks |

It sounds like you are talking about the heater core

Re: Re: 1999 Grand Cherokee leaking coolant
Thanks, but I found another post that mentioned something called a weep hole and if that is leaking then the water pump could be the issue. I don't know much about the water pump, its location or how it works with the coolant. Any ideas?
