2000 nissan maxima...automatic transmission is donezo

Yep, that's right, after 62k miles, my auto had first gear and reverse...that's it...sucks, and I know I'm not the first nor will I be the last 5th gen owner to have a transmission failiure either, so beware all you 5th geners.
Nissan Maxima=great engines, shitty transmissions.

My -93 computer controlled max has no difference from model 2000; works perfecto. ...After harness maintenance. No maint, drive with slipping tranny == DO blow it uself. But then dont complain...:

Probably right, drove it too long on a slipping transmission...oh well, shit happens, I only have 1 car available to me and I just can't take it out of commision whenever the fuck I want...that's just how it goes.

I'd check out voltage level at batt &TCU, clean connectors etc. Also swap solenoid system, change oil. Then tst the available snake oils...

Then, after checking the gear selector I'd go to a tranny shop...
