wet on passanger side floor

I picked up a '02 gp about a month and a half ago and there has been a couple of times in the last week or two where there has been water on the passanger side floor. not standing water, but enough that if you rub the carpet you can see the water pool up. I have checked the weather stripping and windshield and they look fine, plus there is never water on top of the floor mat it is always on the floor only. along the door in the slope is pretty wet and it isn't too bad on the slope running from the firewall. it is hard to see a source. just wondering if anyone has had this problem. thanks.

Here's two things you can check.

Do you have a cabin air filter installed in your GP? The older '97 and up GPs did not come with one. I'm not sure about your year model.

Also if you've been running the A/C, the accumulation of water may be due to clogged or improperly connected blower/evaporator drain hose. The condensation from the evaporator is supposed to run off into a channel and to the drain hose where it is discharged to the outside. If you look on the passenger engine side firewall you should see be able to see it. In order to clean it or check for clogging, the lower blower/evaporator assembly may have to be removed for further inspection.

not to sure about this car but on some of my older cars the heater core used to leak inside the passenger compartment.....check your coolant level ...i know you said that the slope from the firewall is not too bad , but, a leak from the core may channel itself

if it's just water, it's a blocked or diconnected drain like Bnaylor said. If it smells like coolant, then you may have a bad heater core. I would bet some leaves or other debris got down into the heater box and blocked the evaporator core's drain.

I usually don't run the ac to much as it hasn't been that warm and I usually just put the windows down. plus it isn't like this is a little damp, if you run your hand on the carpet it pools up so you can actually see the water.

If your car has climate control, the a/c compressor is always engaged, as the system uses the evap core as a dehumidifier, so even though you're not using the a/c, it is still operating. Even without climate control, your compressor is engaged when you have it set on defrost for the same reason.

Its was a plugged A/C drain hose on mine did that exact thing.
As bnaylor3400 mentioned its a little rubber elbow on the passenger side firewall
