Dash lights and out lights staying on 89 blazer

I have a 1989 blazer the dash lights and the yellow lights on teh outside will stay on if you leave the horn fuse in. does anyone know what the problem could be..also the beeping doesnt stop when off..its also interferring with the radio.

You have a short with your horn or your flasher module.

The dash lights and yellow lights outside being on would indicate the your parking lights are on. They may (I don't have the schematic, so I can't say for sure) be on the same circuit as the horn which is why they would go off when the fuse is removed. I would check the switch.


If the parking lights are on a seperate circuit then some thing from the horn circuit is shorted to the parking lights circuit, if this is the case...simply turning on the headlights should backfeed the short and turn on what ever is causing the problem.
