I bought it

Well folks I did it

I am now the 'proud' owner of a 98 Bravada 47,000 miles.

I do know of the issues that seem to be commonplace and even at the low mileage, some of them are rearing their ugly head - but none of the major ones yet.

The drivers door hinge is sagging and that is number 1 on the list.

Anyone do this yet ?? Any suggestions ???

Thanks in advance

Re: I bought it

I did on my '97.
Support the open door with a floor jack and drive out the lower pin and bushings. Adjust door height with the floor jack as necessary. Install new bushings and pin with plenty of grease.
Remove door spring then drive out the upper door pin and bushings. Install the upper bushings and pin with lots of grease.
I compressed the door spring in my bench vise, tied a stout piece of nylon cord on side of the spring then released the spring, rotated it 180 degrees then recompressed it and tied another piece of nylon cord so the spring was held compressed.
I placed the compressed spring into place then cut the cords and pulled them out.

Re: I bought it

How did you take the springs out of the door hinge? Any special tools?? I am assuming not, probably a screwdriver or something... just curious, I need to replace pins and bushings on both front doors... Thanks!

Re: I bought it

The easiest way is while the door is supported with a floor jack, just drive the top pin out and that will release the spring.
