Air Pump
I went to the GM dealer and had my 96 caprice on diag. they told me i nedded a $229.00 A.I.R. PUMP for pollution control, but they want $144.00 to put it on.. total $383.00
I found the part at a online gm dealer for $139.00 does anyone know how hard this is to replace. I have a little knowledge of auto mechanics, but dont know if I wanna get that in depth if I can pay someone $144.00 to do it, unless its preaty simple, it LOOKS easy enough... any advice wouold be great !!!!

Re: Air Pump
Its actually very simple... First you've gotta remove the belt on the engine, then theres two bolts that hold the air pump on... take those off, take off the air hoses, then put the new one it the same way the old one came out.

Re: Air Pump
On my 85 the air pump was no big deal to remove. Think I had to remove the alternator to get to it, but removing and replacing it, at least on my 85, is half hour job, max, for a pro.
