00 Maxima A/T Top Speed..?
Ok i know yall heard this before...i searched and found LOTS of top speed posts...but not on a 2000 Maxima V6 Auto...
My bud has a maxima which he loves, he's got a full body kit that looks good..not ricey...lol, and his car is lowered like almost 2 inches, with adjustable springs (a very harsh ride may i add)... Anyway, he punched it last night on a dead strip on the highway with no one around (3am) and i seen him just touch 105mph.... I told him his car would hit 140 easily, then basically stop....meaning there's not enough HP to get to the speedo's 160....it would take a long time. He's wasn't hearing that, lol...he said it would reach 160 in no time...lol i told him try it when i'm not in the car :-) PS, now i do believe an 04 max would hit 160 easily, having over 250hp i believe......

BTW, car is bone stock...no cai, not even a k&n filter..

Yeah, your friend is full of BS...the most I've seen on the speedo is 135...and that was with all of my mods except for the Y-pipe(which albeit, is a pretty significant mod). And no, not even a 6th gen maxima would hit 160....150 maybe, going a bit downhil with a slight tailwind. The only nissan product that could maybe hit 160 begins with "350" and ends with "Z".

My auto topped out over 140mph. Mind you, at the time, I was also pretty well modded (VI, ECU, full exhaust). I haven't found the top speed as a 5spd.

The stock ECU will stop him at 135.
