A/C compressor -- auto off in cold?

The manual for my 2005 325xi doesn't make any mention of whether the a/c compressor automatically shuts itself off during cold weather operation. Does anyone know if this is the case? (My Audi used to shut it off below 4 celsius, unless defrost mode was selected.)

No it should stay running therefor it does not seize up durring non operation.
