Once you run the diagnosis, go on line and do a google search on "chevrolet computer coses". "GM computer codes" will also yield a lot of results as well.

Did your SES light come on before this happened?
Is this an engine spins and won't start or a I turn the key and the starter clicks problem?
This little bit of info will help you in getting some answers also do a search..losts of threads on no start concerns.

You need 4 things to make an engine run...Air, Fuel, Spark and Compression
Start by checking those first.

Matt,
Had the same thing happen to me. I also thought it was the fuel pump and almost replaced it. Then it happened again and I took it to dealer. They replaced the distributor cap $250. Then it happened a third time. Took it back and they replaced the whole distributor. After much complaining I did not pay. A month ago I got a recall notice about the distributor and chevy refunded my $250. So check to see if there is an open recall.

Ah, ya beat me to it. Your description had "fuel pump" written all over it. Not that they've ever had a fuel pump issue on GM trucks...

It's not a question of "if", it's "when".

Kept our '02 Tahoe LT only 3 months. It was very nice, but 2 fuel pumps (plus the one that was replaced by the previous owner) and a front hub/ bearing was too much. No truck is that nice. When I told my wife that I had put a rubber mallet in the back so she could get the thing started by herself and save me the trip, she said "That's it. Put the pile of s**t out by the road with a sign in it." Sayonara.

Hated to see it go. Must be a glutton for punishment.
