TUTORIAL - shading a car in photoshop.

Okay, someone asked for this so i made it.

1. start with the original picture.

2. Go to LAYERS - Duplicate Layer and click ok.

3. press Ctrl + shift + U, the colour should go black and white.

4. Go to LAYERS - Duplicate Layer and click ok.

5. press Ctrl + I.

6. at the moment the car will be in negative form.

7. go to the layers panel and change the layer from normal to colour dodge.

8.YOUR PICTURE WILL DISSAPEAR, BUT dont worry, go to FILTER - blur - gaussian blur.

9. slide the point left(for less detail) or right (for more detail)

DO NOT GO TOO FAR RIGHT BECAUSE IT WILL BEGIN TO LOOK LIKE A PICTURE AGAIN.

-chris

P.S. i will get pics up soon

EDIT: pics up, but have 2 more 2 do 2moro

Re: TUTORIAL - shading a car in photoshop.

whatever...

hey Nice car,

do some screen grabs so we can see. It's hard to know if my results are correct without having something to compare it against.

Your method of inverting to fill is much like working in channels.

Are you also a paint bucket fan?
