EGR error question.
I have read a couple topics on ERG problems with Rangers. I've read a couple stating that Ford will replace "something" up untill the end of 2005'.
I currently am getting an EGR error, and am a bit curious about this. Can anyone elaborate on this a little more, or let me know if it is all just hear-say. And if there is such a deal going, can you post some literature on it so I can show the dealership. Any feedback is greatly appreciated guys! JP |

What EGR error are you getting? Most common 'failure' on FMC EGR systems is with the DPFE sensor. Trace the vac line from the dome of the EGR valve to the DPFE sensor. The DPFE regulates the vacuum supply to actuate the valve. Undo a couple of vac lines & an electrical connector & it's out.

Re: EGR error question.
Ford is replacing DPFE sensors on certain 2001 vehicles if the PCM shows a P0401 or a P0402. They extended the warranty on this part for 5 years, 50,000 miles.
