My first nitrous experience...

Just thought I'd throw in, the NX kit is in, got my bottle filled today and tested it all out. Ran a conservative 50 shot on it for a shakedown. Me Likes. I'll step up to 75 and probly a 100 tomorrow. I will change plugs before I go 125 or 150.

Re: My first nitrous experience...

Are you just turning your distributer to decrease your timing?

He has a twEECer, so I'd assume he's using that.

Nailed it right on the head. I'll re-install my MSD Digital 6+ prior to stepping over 100 HP and use the single stage retard built into it so I can have a more aggressive NA tune. Plus I'm working up a nitrous program to set into my #3 notch on the TwEECer knob so I can have my aggressive NA tune and a safe N20 tune, and the switch-on-the-fly capability of the TwEECer will let me change programs faster than I can open my bottle....

Used the 75 shot today. It started raining so I couldn't switch to 100. Used the 75 on a slightly wet patch. Holy tire spin, batman! Used it on a dry area, definitely a noticably harder hit than the 50. Can't wait to step it up!

Re: My first nitrous experience...

Cool, I forgot about the Tweecer

Are you going to a colder plug for the 100 shot?

Re: My first nitrous experience...

I'm running 764's already, which are a step colder than the "stock" plugs for a GT-40 head. However, Ford deemed it necessary for Cobras to have 764's stock, so it's kind of an experiment. We'll run it with these plugs for a couple of shakedown runs, and monitor the timing via the TwEECer to see if the 'puter yanks some. As soon as we see timing come out the button gets released.

I'll switch to Autolite 103's when I go to the 125 and 150 shot.

Re: My first nitrous experience...

Not to rob your thread but since you are talking about spark plugs (an area of which I am pretty much clueless)....What plugs would you suggest for my combo in sig? I'd prefer autolites. Thanks.

I run autolite 23's. Your sig doesn't say how much boost your running. If your running less than 8psi I would say autolite 24's. Real safe or more than 8psi I would say autolite 23's.

Invest in a bottle warmer if you don't already have one. It makes a huge difference.

Re: My first nitrous experience...

Already got it, I just need to buy a relay and a fitting for the T-stat to install it.
