Install a Tachometer?

I've searched the forum and found no discussion about installing a tach. How would you do it and what is the best tachometers out there. Obviously I don’t need one that goes to 15k rpm and has a shift light for racing. But having a good tach would be helpful. What are your opinions?

Re: Install a Tachometer?

Well on the vans I've had this installed on there is a white wire that comes off the coil to a connector. Nothing connected to it at all. I plugged the tach wire to that. Then of course a power, ground and lights wires....

Re: Install a Tachometer?

Sounds easy enough, but i don't think i could get a tach digi meter like yours as Lordco and Napa and other car parts dealer around here doesn't have any of those or never heard of them. i'll see what i can do and maybe send you guys some pictures of my progress later on.
