Temperature Problem
Ok, here is the deal. My temp guage goes almost to overheat, but it never overheats. I have changed the thermostat, the water pump,I have flushed the coolant, I have no smoke from the exhaust, my engine oil is great. I have not yet changed the fan clutch, but I have had it checked and a hobby shop mech told me it is puching sufficient air. What are my options and what could be wrong with it? LMK Thanks

Re: Temperature Problem
well if your temp guage goes that high, chances are you have killed your coolant o-rings :P
Sounds to me like you have a pressure leak that is caused while running.

Re: Temperature Problem
the coolant seals are large o-rings that are between the housings.
But i cant say yes to your question as there are ALOT of different o-rings in the motor :P

Re: Temperature Problem
yup, you need to do a full rebuild to replace the coolant o-rings/seals.
One of the reasons people give the rotary such a bad rep.

if it was my coolant seals wouldn't I have water in my oil? Is there anything else? I mean my car runs great. This has been going on for like 4 months and the car is still awesome. It has never shut off. No difference and it has tons of power. LMK thanks

Is it possible that my radiator could be doing what that fellas is doing? What causes that? And do you reccommend me doing it or paying someone to do it? I have done everything to that car. Also, I am a Jet Engine Mechanic. LMK thanks

Re: Temperature Problem
You wont necessarily get oil water in the oil from a coolant o-ring leak. If it is a VERY minor leak then you woudl only leak water when everything is under pressure.
It is possilbe that you have a leak in the rad, or a faultie rad cap. Test your cooling system with a pressure tester, as well as the rad cap/caps.

Re: Temperature Problem
you can pick up a coolant system pressure tester from any parts store or fix it kind of store.
Basicly a pump with a fitting that goes onto where your rad cap was, and then you pump it up and see if it holds pressure.
