I just bought a CD/MP3 player for my car but I didnt install it yet..I would like to know how do I take out my original radio..wasn't sure which part of the dash came off..I would also like to know if I need to attach any etra wires or do I just plug the original wires..Right now I have the Honda cassette/radio in it.

You should need one of those harness adapters as well. You can get them from any car audio placer, best buy, radio shack (should have them), crutchfield, etc. That will come with the color code with it, and then (if I remember correctly) you just attach/solder the wires from that adapter harness to the wires that the CD player comes with. Then just plug that adapter into the the other clip of your car (labeled "16-P Connector" in the above pic). |

Re: radio install
Yes it would be best to use an adapter as CivicSpoon said, as you do not need to cut you harness and wires are color coted. Also I would recomend soldering the wires as the vibration from the car may cause crimps to fail.

Re: radio install
Ya i just took out the radio..(didnt buy teh adapter yet)..and ya they both have 12 wires(on the plug that came with teh new radio and on the old radio) but ya they are diffenret colors..the only wires that are the same color are the ground obviously..well i wouldn't need the adapter if someone could tell me which wires are for what speakers on the stock harness(ex: the grey with blue stripe is front right speaker etc.) if anybody would know where I can find that on the net or already did there cd player and know that would be great..and yes I already tries looking on the net but I couldn't find anything..If only I had ALDATA like in garages lol..thanks anyways for the replies
