Porsche 944 vs Accord V6
Hey, havent posted in a while cause usually nothing good happens but,
I was at home after coming back from college, and my buddy brings a guy over with an 80's Porsche 944. It was stock but he wanted to drop an LS1 into it and some other mods i dont remember. We decide to take it out for a spin and i get shotty. He gets it up to 130, which was not the brightest idea in the world with traffic and nighttime, but we reach where we wanted to go a little quicker. We cruise around for a while, not really seeing anything interesting, when an 03ish V6 accord coupe with exhaust revs next to us. The guy im with bogs the launch, but still gets about a car on him. Then i look to the left and my friends Mark VIII destroys us. Oh well, it was my first porsche ride, and i got to see what it could do. CN: Rode in a porsche 944, beat an accord, lost to a lincoln |

I'm assuming it wasn't a turbo, and it must have been a bad driver in the Accord. 85.5- 944s were lighter, you didnt happen to catch the year did you? It takes work to build a n/a 944 beyond 200hp, but they handle awesome. I've done 70+ on cloverleafs in mine. btw... v8s just kill the weight balance on a 944.

Re: Porsche 944 vs Accord V6
Yeah no joke. If he wants to put a chevrolet engine into a german racing machine I'm sure he isn't too worried about the handling. To all of that are, such thoughts would be blasphemy.

Re: Porsche 944 vs Accord V6
Actually the LS1 is a light engine...
Consider the LS1 FD3S's.. they have a better power/weight ratio then stock...... And yea, those Lincoln Mark VIII's can haul some serious ass. They do have the Cobra motor (minus the forged internals)

Re: Porsche 944 vs Accord V6
the 944 is a rear engine power plant too isnt it? ohhh yay for spin outs....
and the FD's that people drop LS1's into may have a better power to weight ratio, be we are talking balence

Re: Porsche 944 vs Accord V6
His 944 was an 85.5, and yeah it did handle really well.
Also its not the turbo. |

Re: Porsche 944 vs Accord V6
944 is front engine. I just hate the thought of any sbc in a 944 though. Its so much cheaper to just buy a car with an ls1. Or... buy a 944 turbo. My old turbo made about 350whp w/ about $2000 into it. It wasn't so hot from a dig but once the turbo spooled it pulled easilly on most street cars.
