cleaning paving oil off truck

Anybody have good suggestions for removing the paving oil that was tossed all over my truck as I went through a construction zone the other day. I was out of town and couldn't clean my truck for a few days. I tried on Monday, but it's quite a mess. Should I just use bug and tar remover?

just use gas and make sure you clean it all off when done then re-wax it. of you can use goo-gone and a lot of elbow grease.

WD40 works well also. Spray it on, let it sit and wipe it off.

Question Remover

Depending what product was on your truck babyoil will remove quite a few of the various types. I work in that that field. Even though we try never to get it on anything other than the road things happen.
Diesel will work the best for any of the types and won't hurt the finish.

I use paint thinner - doesn't evaporate as quickly as gasoline.

Thanks for the info, guys. Looks like it'll be a few days before I can get back to it since Katrina is going to be dumping rain here for the next three days. I'll let you know how things go.

I usually use my fingernail but if it spears I use some degreaseer. I might try wd40 next time and see how it fairs. the Degreaser works instantly though.
