Tough beating a WRX
So im driving home from my buddies party, good times, gf, and cottage plans arranged plus beer and umm a lil token makes for a good night... So im driving home and I hit this long onramp doing about 120km nothing too fast and I didn't plan to race...somebody catches right up to me and sits right on my ass for the entire onramp...when it opens up to the highway I see a blue WRX with major tints and a fartcan (exhause mabe) fly by me
Thinking theres no way im being passed by the little sister of the Subaru lineup I immediately drop into 4th and pass him just a bit and slow down a little...he speeds up right beside me, wait 2 secs and just goes, so I punch it and shift into 5th...I pull on him pretty quickly until I have about 1.5 cars on him doing about 190km/h....I look up ahead and theres this piece of shit beater car that for some reason decided to drive half in my lane and half in his...The WRX is making it tough for me to squeeze into his lane and possibly cut him off, so I ease up and get behind him..as soon as we pass the moron I pull into the other land and start pulling the car to 230km/h with a decent amount of gear left...at 230 I pull quickly on him and get a few carlengths ahead as he slows down a bit...My exit ramp was up so slowed down and got in the right lane Lastly, I really got a chance to fly through the gears in this helf residential 4 lane road by my house...I had the subie flying shifting at around 6300 through all the gears...I had the car at about 230-240km/h with a little bit of gear left...I had to let off because...well I was scared of the speed I was doing on non-highway, and in general Cliff notes lazy bastards read! Raced a WRX beater car pulled half into my lane putting me behind beat him eventually Got the car to about 230km/h on the back roads *edit, I gotta scratch the 250 cause im really not sure If I got that fast, it was something close tho

Bah...I have no idea how fast that was, damn metric system...
Anyways, good run, nice kill. I'm starting to think that stock, those WRXs aren't all they are supposed to be. STis on the other hand...

Re: Tough beating a WRX
250km/h = 155mph
240km/h = 149mph its like a 0.62 factor and Skyline ur behind the times man...actually I haven't posted a race in a while so you prob wouldn't know...The lease expiredin my RSX Type S about 6 months ago, and I couldn't afford to keep it after the lease was up Now I just use my parents cars...2005 Subaru Legacy and a 2002 Mazda Protege

Re: Tough beating a WRX
I'm guessing you beat the WRX w/ the Legacy. Good kill. WRX's ain't all that bad, and honestly i'd probably prefer fixing up the 2.0 liter motor over the 2.5 liter one, as there is more available aftermarktet equipment.

A 2005 Legacy GT, however, is another story (I wold hope that's what his parents have - none of the other models will come close).

Re: Tough beating a WRX
I like the look of those new legacy GTs...they scoot pretty good for a 4-door family sedan too.

Re: Tough beating a WRX
yeah, I ike the legacy GTs too. But it being perceived by the market as being a "family car" just cos it has 4 doors is about as right as assuming the evo is also a family car....although, with the evo, than can be debated :P

Yeah I did it in the legacy which is the GT...It is definately a family car, its very roomy, and comfortable with soft suspension, but it does have alot of power in turbo range...and the 5 speed is alot of fun

Re: Tough beating a WRX
I don't think turbo lag is a factor at those speeds...
