timing chain questions
got all the parts, ready to put back together, question on rtv. should rtv be applied to both sides of timing cover gasket, one side, or just around the bolts? also the oil pan, i have a cork gasket, does it need rtv applied to it also, or will the cork gasket be sufficient

Re: timing chain questions
You really don't need rtv at all unless you need it to hold the gasket in place. If you didn't pull the head I could see that you might need it to hold the gasket in place.

22R/RE has a chain, not a belt.
