Hi, I'm no expert, but I'm currently planning a b16a swap into my 97civic, so I've learned some stuff. I hope this list helps you out. (i've seen many of these parts listed at www.jdmhondaparts.com)
1. TODA Cams 2. adj. cam gears 3. air intake, header 4-1, cat-back exhaust 4. performance pulleys 5. fuel system- fuel rail, regulator, injectors 6. high comp. pistons (block may need boring) 7. titanium valve retainers 8. performance valves 9. valve springs 10. performance valve guides 11. port and polish head and intake manifold 12. performance chip for ecu, Apex'i vafc controller
This are a few things that can get you started. Hope I helped. Drive safely :sun:

You need experience to build it

But...I'll give my little run-down of an awesome motor just like everyone else has:

B20Z block
Z10 Engineering block girdle
ductile iron sleeves (stock bore)
12.1 compression pistons (Endyn rollerwaves...ohhhhh yeesssss)
new, stronger rings
stronger rods
balance and blueprint
Mugen oil pan
custom head gasket (for strength)
port and polished B18C1 cylinder head
Skunk2 intake manifold
70mm throttle body
Toda Spec A/B/C whatever you want for your idle (go with A for street, B for street/race, and C for straight race w/ a high ass idle) cams
larger, stronger valves
stronger valvesprings
titanium retainers
Benen fuel rail
270cc injectors
some sort of intake, Comptech/AEM I don't care as long as it isn't a cheap, low quality one
SMSP, HyTech, or Toda 4-1 header (2.5" collector)
custom high flow 2.5" catalytic conv. (guessing its for the street, if not go ahead and get a test pipe)
2.5" stainless steel or titanium cat-back exhaust I like the A&J Racing Type-One exhaust
BBK fuel pump
A'PEXi V-AFC
some sort of easy-to-tune cam gears
JDM ITR transmission
lightened flywheel
stronger clutch
Fluidyne radiator and other cooling things (fan, cap, etc.)
TUNING

BLAM you've got yourself a nice 205ish whp NA motor.

hey Sean, JDM R trannies and R trannies are almost identical. They only have one gear ratio different. Why waste the cash ?

USDM R final drive sucks....straight up.

You could get a USDM R tranny and then an ATS Final Drive, or save the time/work and get a JDM one.

actually the JDM R tranny can shave a decent amount from your 1/4 mile times cuz of the much better final drive.

if you really want to find out about what works and what doesnt you need to know how engines work and respond to different parts and modifications. a big list of parts isn't going to help you out unless you know what you are buying and what purpose it serves. i'd say read up on all these articles:

http://www.team-integra.net/sections...les.asp?Show=1

you'll have to register to access them but i've learned more from there in a day then a year on online forums. read all the 'engine internal' articles and stuff by michael delany, or posts by Tuan on superhonda hondavision. its the same guy by the way.

ok.....u are saying it's so true that the JDM R tranny makes a difference and then you start talking about a Focus funny car being slow in the 1/4 mile race, someone needs to clear this up, I know it's been a long day for me but I am still very confused, someone please help, someone is confused, lol, me or him. I just am making sure that getting 2 hours of sleep is not the reason I am confused.
