I'm going to be selling my 88 Civic in a few months and I'm trying to get a ballbark figure on what I might get for it. Here's a little info on it.
It's a 1988 Civic DX 4 door. Unfortunately, it's an automatic. It's got about 172,500 miles on it. I am the second owner and I have taken strict care of it. I've changed the oil every 3,000 miles or less, no exceptions. I've replaced the spark plugs and the distributor. I will also be replacing the drivers side axle and the oxygen sensor. There are NO leaks that I can see anywhere.
There really isn't any body damage except for a "scuff" on the front passengers door, but it's not a dent or anything, just a scuff. Also, there's a crak in the winshield about a foot long but it's not an obstruction to the driver and should pass inspection.
The motor is stock as far as I can tell. The only thing I've added is a cold air intake. I also threw in a Typr-R shifter, for that ricer appeal. The windows are tinted, 20% on the back glass and back two windows, 15% on the front two windows. The audio system consists of 2 10" Kicker Comp VR's, powered by a 1000 watt 2 Channel HiFonics Zeus amp. There's a 1 farad cap keeping the audio surge free. I've also got a 400 Soundstorm amp running the Pioneer 6 1/2 speakers and the 5.25 speakers. The Alpine tweeters are running straight off of the Pioneer head unit, which is a flip face with remote.
The wheels are 17" ADR Design 8 spokes, white in color, and are wrapped in 205/40/17 Nankang NS-1 tires. The headlights are Halo projectors with clear backing, along with the clear side markers and bumper lights. Taillights are stock since I couldn't find any clears for this year and I don't want to paint the whole thing red like some people do.
Anyhow, I'm just trying to get a ballpark figure on how much I might expect to get for this. I'm looking into getting a 2 door coupe so when I do I'll be selling this car. Thanks for looking.
