1997 Steering Wheel Controls

Can anyone tell me why my cruise control doesn't work on my 1997 caravan?

Also can anyone tell me why my airbag light is on?

Re: 1997 Steering Wheel Controls

Sounds like your clock spring is faulty. There was a recall on these, have you had it done? The clockspring is a spring between your column and the wheel that mainains contact for the electrical items on the steering wheel (ie. horn, cruise, air bag). Does your horn still work?

I heard about this recall that you spoke of. But i think i also read that it was for caravans with less then 70,000 miles on them. Mine has 100,000.

And no the horn doesn't work.

This clock spring that you speak of; is it something i can change myself without worrying about getting hit in the face with an airbag? (lol) And about how much money am i going to be spending?

Pick up a haynes manual. It should walk you through it.
