I haven't got much response from my last thread
(My Ef Civic Suspension. Cry For Help!!!) THE ACTUAL PROBLEM-REAR WHEEL POSITION PROBLEM PASENGER/side is flush with the car fender/BODY. (like the look when people put wheel spacers on) The DRIVER/side is like half an inch in from the fender (like stock, about a cm in the fender, right IN the wheel well) --BOTH WHEELS ARE AT ROUGHLY THE SAME CAMBER--- So I have a thought of what may be the problem and ask what the symptoms may be? -When I installed all the rear suspension components on the car, everything was changed except the rear compensator arm (toe link) and the rear sway bar. I remember that the rear sway bar was bent slighty. 1-What are the symptoms of a bent sway bar? 2-What are the symptoms of a driving with no sway bar? 2-What is the symptoms of an insufficient compensator arm (toe link)?? Please someone help, this car means a great deal to me and any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. |

Re: what are the symptoms of a bent rear sway bar???
my civic dx hatchback doesn't have a rear sway bar. i think having a rear sway bar is for better handling. try taking it off and see if it is straight. oh yeah.. did you hit a curb or anything? when u drive the car is there a difference? maybe you need an alignment? i replaced the trailing arm with es bushings and i didn't have that problem. what about the rear lower arms?

Re: what are the symptoms of a bent rear sway bar???
Quote:
1. A bent sway bar is not strong enough to affect wheel posistion. 2. Increased understeer 3. Incorrect toe The comp arms are adjustable, they are the only factory rear alignment point. You could be way out of adjustment or have a bent suspension arm. It's hard to say without being able to see the tire or having alingment specs available. My suggestion, take it for an alignment. If hasn't been done in a while have all 4 done, or if your cheap have only the rear aligned and go from there. The person doing the alignment should notify of a bent or worn part. |
