Question blown head.

ok. im new to the whole import tuner end of cars. i drive a 1991 honda civic crx Si with a 1.6 bored out to a 2. my main problem with this car is that when i bought the car it was burning oil really bad. it still drives but the smell is nauseating. some people have told me it could be the seals and others have said it could be the valve guides. i only make about 200 a month at my current job so a cheap but not "cheap" fix is what im looking for. i have found heads on ebay and a "mini-me swap" for under 150. what should i do?

you sure it's bored to a 2L? Or is it just overbored .020 over. Thats not really possibly on a d16a6 without expensive sleeving.

I don't know about bored out to 2.0, but burnning oil is usually the rings. My car did the same and then I replace the engine. What also could of happend is that the person who owned it before bored it out 0.2 more, but then installed all the components that support only 1.6 liters?? Could be? Best bet is do all the basic matainance first and see if it is just that? If that doesn't help, swap or rebuild. I highly doubt it is the head!

Hope this helps
