MK3 with 2jz motor & trans

Ive dreamed of having a supra for a while now, and finally found my chance. Theres a 1990 5spd for sale with no motor or tranny and in real good body condiiton. I was just wondering if I could put the 2jzgte motor and transmission in the car and if there is any other things I would have to do to do this.

Is the car less than $1K? I don't think I would much more pay for an empty shell. The 2JZ will fit, if you can find one. You will need a new motor mount setup, new tranny mount setup, new drive shaft, new fuel system, and throttle cable. The power steering lines will have to be custom made. You will need the wire harness and ecu from the donor car. That will have to be spliced in to the existing body harness. It should only be about ten wires or so to get the engine running. When doing up the motor mounts make sure you allow for the oil pan to clear the power steering rack. You also have to watch your clearance between the fire wall and the rear turbo. I am just finishing up on a 1JZ swap my self. I didn't use the 2jz mainly because it just costs too much. Ever since that stupid movie which I won't name came out MK IV and 2JZ related items have gone through the roof.

One of the things that has been burning in my head ever since I started this project is to put the Lexus 4.0 L V8 into a MK III. I pulled my donor motor from an SC300. The engine bay dimensions are similar. The MK III is something like an inch narower at the subframe rails. I think it will fit, and would be way cooler than yet another 2JZ. The work level would be about the same. I think the engine would be easier to source, and probably a bit cheaper.

Thanks. You answered everything I can ask for. I chose the 2jz because of the potential. Its either buying this car or selling my accord and try buying a 98 TT. Id rather buy this car and keep the accord as a daily driver but the other way seems to be the easier way out.
