Angry hydrolock!

Went flash flood around my town tonight went through what I thought was a long puddle... ended up being about 3-4inches of standing water.... car shuts off and I don't know what to do... yes I have an AEM cold air intake. (wich was soaking wet to the touch) took off the intake at the TB and that was alittle wet too on the inside... what do I do please help.

Start saving for a new engine? Other than that, not sure.

Damn that sucks.

Couldn't you tow it to your house, take off the AEM intake, try to dry out some of the components and put on the stock one, and then call Hyundai service and say your engine just went dead.

It doesn't happen all the time but my head does think. Its not just a holder for hair.

I just threw that out there, but in all reality its not a bad idea really. Unless of course the Hyundai Tech guy is reading this.

Re: hydrolock!

since I bought my car used I don't have the 10 year 100000 mile warranty... wouldn't matter if I did though cause hydrolock isn't covered under warranty cause it's considered user error.... you were going to fast thru high water so it's your fault... warranty is only for parts malfunction

Maybe so, but there is always a way around the warranty b/s. Bring in a really hot chik, with Tig O' Bitties, long legs, and slightly teary eyed and have her spill some story about how she broke her brother's car (u being the brother of course.) That usually gets em, thought some require some under the desk persuasion...(pay the chick well.) lol.

Wouldn't that cost you as much as getting a new engine.

Re: hydrolock!

tow it to a pepboys or an auto zone, and have them flush out the engine, and fluids.. swap in a stock air box and such and bbring it in to the dealership and see what they say
