Re: ls vtec questions !!!!!!!!!!
well if you put new pistons in, its a good idea to hone the sleeves to match the pistons. and if you put new arp rods bolts you should have them checked to see if the rod got warped and if it did have them reround the rod.
but hte type r oil pump will work and yes you can put these parts in and run your ls head |

i was told b16a pistons are too domed and they would smack the ls head

Re: ls vtec questions !!!!!!!!!!
B16A rods are shorter than LS rods, you need to use LS rods with your motor. B16A pistons should not be too domed to run with an LS head, especially considering it uses smalelr valves and cams than it's VTEC counterparts, but i'd clay anyways.
And on that note, I would recommend NOT trying to build your own motor at this point in the game. |

Re: ls vtec questions !!!!!!!!!!
b16 pistons work good with lsvtecs, even type r pistons work good in lsvtec. i wouldnt worry about piston to valve clearance. it should yield about a 10.8 cr vs 9.2 stock
