87 Dakota engine issue
Ok I have a mint 1987 Dakota with a 3.9 liter V6. I came off the interstate the other day and the engine just cut off. I thought it was the coil since it was the original one, so I replaced it. Nothing. I changed the pick-up and the SCC (spark Control Computer) and still nothing. The starter turns the motor over but it seems like there is an electrical problem. I checked the fuses under the dask (the only ones I know about) I know some cars have a second fuse panel. My questions are, Has anyone else had this problem and what was done to fix it?

Fuel pump? Or something w/distributor? Sounds like it lacks gas or spark.

I got it fixed it was the metal ring under the pickup. It had broken off the distribitor and was just sitting there.

Re: 87 Dakota engine issue
I am having the no start issue with my truck. What ring are you talking about and how did you fix it?
I have replaced the plugs, cap, roter, coil, i can't get the truck to start. It turns over but no go. |
