dashboard gauges and warning lights
Have a 1997 Jeep GC. While driving, the dashboard lights and the warning lights began to intermitently switch on and off. Happens at random but often (as much as every 10 seconds back and forth). Also effects power door locks. Other systems such as turn signals, lights, radio, AC, etc. are working fine. Any ideas as to what is wrong and how to fix?

Re: dashboard gauges and warning lights
Had it happen to me, its the battery.
The contacts on the battery may be dirty, what happens is you get and loose contact causeing everything electronic to go wacky. Go and get yourself a battery termanal cleaner, clean the posts and the cables as it has the brush for that also. I had it happen to me, the locks went up and down, the lights went nuts, everything, so I know what it is.. I hope this helps, clean it till it's all shiney and spray with WD 40 or other water displaceing lube. |
