Radiator cap orientation...
Sry guys, I know it's a lot of posts from one person. Just trying to keep individual threads related to one item at a time though.
Does the orientation of the radiator cap on the surge tank matter? When I went out to the car to start it, it said that there was low coolant. Looked at the tank and it was almost empty. Removed the cap and felt a huge amount of pressure being released. All of a sudden, the surge tank was full. When I replaced the cap last night, I put it on so that the arrow was facing aways from the overflow tube. Did I put it on the wrong way. I know you all are sick of my images, but it might help to show you how the cap is now. ![]() In the above picture, the pressure has been released from the system. You can see the coolant spray all over the place. If you turn the cap clockwise a quarter turn you would see how I had it last night. I'm just wondering if I put it back on wrong. Thanks!

The orientation does matter. My cap has an arrow on it. This arrow sort of lines up with the overflow tube location, when it's on securely.
