Humming sound from front/left? Please Help/
There is this increasingly loud humming sound coming from the front-left of my '94 grand am... it seems to really kick in when I go over 45 mph... it also gets louder when I turn left.
Any ideas? Thanks. |

Welcome to the forum. It deffinately sounds like you have a bad hub assembly to me. If it a sort of pulsating-roar that you hear?

It doesn't necessarily pulse... its just a loud humming sound... almost like theres a biplane inside my front/left tire. ![]() Do you mean the hub cap assembly? The hub cap is a little broken.. its got a crack in it... that tire hit a concrete seperator and blew the tire... and the hub cap is a bit damaged from it. Though the sound didn't start until a while after that accident. The sound kicks in mainly at 45mph or more... and its much l ouder when I'm turning left. |

i think Ridenour ment the wheel bearings. since u hit the seperater i'd say at least the bearings if not something else too. jack the car up on that side and see if the wheel feels, loose or wobly. kinda look around see anything else seems wrong, the CV joint could have broken abit from the seperater. remember safty first \,,/
