Question Diesel Rabbit Parts

Ok all, I'm considering buying an early 80's diesel rabbit and I'm wondering who, where, and what are the parts sources for engine performance and stock rebuild parts. Any help would be appreciated...

Years ago I was given my first car by my parents: my father's VERY used 1978 diesel rabbit. I was pissed because it wasn't a 1969 chevelle SS, but man... that thing got awesome mileage... and that taught me to truly appreciate the freedom that driving offers.

Now, it just might be fun to find another one of these little cars and make it perform a lil' better than it originally did!!!
