1984 LTD wagon proportioning valve

My mechanic says my '84 LTD wagon needs a new proportioning valve, but we can't find one anywhere. Anyone know a place online I could get one?

thanks,

Patrick

Re: 1984 LTD wagon proportioning valve

1984 if i'm correct that would be the smaller midsize model. In that case you can use a valve from a Ford Fairmont/FUTURA, FORD GRANADA, Mercury Monarch,Mercury Zephyr, Mercury Grand Marquis all of these cars from 1981 - 1984. Or any other Ford/Mercury That has the same brake setup (disk in front and drum in rear) and same wheel base. I would even look into Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis between 1985 -1990 I dont think there is that much of a wheel base differance for those valves not to work. You may need to mod the mounting bracket and maybe change the line fittings.
