Re: How many types of mustangs are their?
in 1966, there were only 2 engine blocks, the 200 CID straight 6 and the 289 CID V8. The 289 was available in 3 engine codes I believe, a base one (forget the code) which put out about 190 hp, "A" which put out 220 hp, and "K" which put out around 260 hp. Factory K-code mustangs are worth ALOT of money these days. In 1966, the GT package was just a trim option that could be applied to any 289 Mustang. It included fog lamps, rocker panel stripe, and a tach.
There were also 3 body styles in 1966; Coupe, Fastback, and Convertible. Convertibles and Fastbacks are worth much more than coupes. My dad owns a '66 289 Convertible with the original matching #'s engine.

Re: How many types of mustangs are their?
2-door hardtop, 2+2 "fastback" and convertible.
170 CID and 200 CID straight 6s 200 horse, 225 horse and 271 (High Performance) 289s My little brother has a BEAUTIFUL '65 K-code. It has all the original drivetrain in it. Not a bad runner, but his '99 Cobra will EAT IT UP. My nephew's Bullit will, too. And you're right, the thing is worth an obscene amount of money... (in the $40K range, according to him) |

Don`t forget in 1966 thay had the Sprint package that came with the 200 inline 6 cylinder engine and also the 66 High Country Special that came with either the 200 or the 289. It had special HCS side badges. I think they came in a convertible, coupe or fastback, but not 100 percent sure on that. Rhonda
