AC Leak in High side valve
I have a 94 explorer which has a leak in the high side valve. It appears that the valve cannot be replaced therefore it also appears that I have to replace the whole high side hose, which includes the valve, to the pump. Does anyone know if there is a plug available or some other alternative to replacing the high side hose?

Re: AC Leak in High side valve
Leaking service ports are common, but the good news is the port can be replaced without the whole hose assembly! Alot of auto parts shops should have it in stock, but you need to have a shop perform the recover, evac and recharge procedures related to opening the system for the port replacement. Lost count of how many I've replaced so I know it's available so don't let the push you into buying a hose! GOOD LUCK!

1992 4.0L V-6 The a/c hoses connecting to the evaporator and accumulator have some sort of clamp connection. Are there any special tools required to replace the accumulator? |

Yes, here is a link,http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...AT535_pg35.htm but you may find other least expensive recources. This will give you a view of what tool is needed. Now if you open the ac system you will have to evacuate the the system with a vacuum pump, and then test for leak down. I would also replace the accumulator. Also replace the orfice tube located in the inlet of the evap core. |

Re: AC Leak in High side valve
There is a cheaper version of the Quick-connect tools available at your local Autozone. It also helps to have the charge removed before opening the system too!

Thanks for the advice...... I got the quick-connect tool, round thing. The joint has a square tin clamp over it, I will remove it and see what I can tear up!
