Compression Problems

I bought a Rx-7 SE M 5S from my nephew for 200 dollars thats it just 2 hundred the paint job is worth 1600 I was there haha. But anyways the car. He drove it the night before and the next morning he went to go start it and it wouldnt start but it turned over so they tried push starting it and it lost compression. How would I go about fixing the compression on my 1987 Seven.. Can someone PLEASE help me or tell me what I can do... No im not selling it I love this car. When I actually get it running I have to race my nephews 240SX. So can someone please tell me what to do reply or email me at [email protected] Thank you. Mark.

Re: Compression Problems

mazda could compression test it for ya, or just get a rebuild. i just picked up an adkins streetported for 2600 with a 2 year warranty. worth every penny!

Re: Compression Problems

you will lose to a 240sx stock for stock

you may have to pull the spark plugs and add marvel mystery oil (or ATF if your cheap) and give it a few cranks to lubricate the seals

likely the car was sitting for a while (lots of fcs do lol)

Re: Compression Problems

carbon locak. Possibly got one or more of the seals stuck. Or it may have a blow seal. Only true way to fix the compression is to fix it with a rebuilt motor.

Re: Compression Problems

if you have carbon lock, you can pull a vaccum line (like the one off the intake tube) and have it suck some really hot water, itll clean right out

Re: Compression Problems

13B+cheap=junk

I have run into many people who have picked up new engines and put them in there cars, driven 10k and then the thing just gives in. If its a cheap 13B then it was assembled poorly, and just slapstick or used cheap parts or a combo of the two.

Spend the money on a new motor if you plan on keeping the car for any length of time.
