P0303
Took 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo to dealership yesterday. They diagnosed #2 cylinder misfire and prescribed 6 cylinder tune up and & throttle body/fuel injector service. $324.70 dollars later I'm driving home and check engine light comes on again, not to mention I now have a rough idle, with p303 or a #3 cylinder misfire. I am not happy. I didn't have this problem before and I don't want to pay for them to screw it up again. Any thoughts on the cause of rough idle or new cylinder misfire?

Re: P0303
Why did you take to dealer for service. I guess it was running good. That is if it didn't have a problem. But cyl misfires can be misdiagnose. Wish I made that much on tune up, if that is what you want to call it. Since you don't tune one up today but service it. Fuel cleaning can help alot of things but don't always fix the problem, sounds like they miss something or mechanic made dumb mistake like forgot to gap the plugs. I would take it back but be wise and don't let them get the best of you. But they may very well need to fix thier mistake.

They tried to push me to let them change air & fuel filter and quad ring which I turned down. My biggest concern is passing the state inspection. |

There is a fuel filter in the fuel regulator but it rarely goes bad..again, relace only if you are having issues with the engine/fuel system. |

Most of my experience on the 300 codes usally come from a bad plug or wire and Injectors. usally it is a bad plug that has been over looked. Every time you go to the dealer it is going to be costly. Take it back and dont let them talk you into more repairs.
