Arrow My cats are gone!

I bit the bullet yesterday and had them removed. And I was right. They were stopping up more and more each day. My detonation went away, and the truck seems to run much smoother. Havent had enough time to test for mileage yet, but the top-end power is like night and day!

Only one thing I'm not sure I like or not...with a single 40 flow, that sucker is loud as hell about 2100 rpm. Other than that, it just sounds really agressive and super deep. Once my new tune gets here tomorrow, I'll check the mileage and see how big a difference they make together.

Did you keep the 93 tune PCM?

Re: My cats are gone!

My 87 should be here tomorrow. I'm just waiting on it now. I'm trying for the best mileage possible right now, power comes 2nd.

NO!!!!!!!!! Did you do the o2 sims, or have Allen just turn off the front o2 sensors? If it's too loud for your taste, you might want to think about the magnaflows. I have lt headers, no cats, and true duals, and mine is still fairly tame until I romp on it. I have the cutouts for when I want to make some noise.

Re: My cats are gone!

I don't want to sacrifice power, but I might have to to get better economy. I'm guessing Allen turned he o2 sensors off for me, I don't have a SES light yet. I know for sure on the new tune he's turning them off, i requested that.

As for the muffler, I knew a Flowmaster was loud, but damn! This is crazy! It pops like a glasspack at 2000 - 2100 which is where my truck stays at while accelerating in 2nd and 3rd especially. I'd like to quiet it down some, but I know I can't afford anything expensive right now.
