Live in the UK - Problems with getting Tamiya supplies?

For all those in the UK, www.modelsforsale.co.uk now has a VERY good range of Tamiya supplies. Tamiya Enamels, Tamiya Model Wax, and get this, Tamiya Rubbing Compound..

http://www.modelsforsale.com/catalog...%20&%20Fillers

No longer does the UK model builder have to struggle real bad to buy some decent Tamiya model supplies.. Just how cool is that..? I spent days in December last year searching for online suppliers in other countries that sold this stuff due to no one in the UK selling it..

If this looks like an advert, sorry I don't work for them, but those in the UK who have problems getting this stuff might like to know of a UK supplier..!!

Yeah, cheers for that Mick. I started building around the same time as you and I remember the hassles in trying to get compound, wax and the like. Nice one!

I was aware of this site selling Tamiya Enamels a few weeks back, as a member of this board posted about it (Lurchio - Thanks), and was well pleased about that. I like the Tamiya Enamels. Fantastic for brush painting with, but I was looking around today for a pin vise from them, when I saw Tamiya model wax.. I was like - no way..!! Then I also found rubbing compounds..

The funny thing is, I paid a lot of money to have Tamiya Enamels, Rubbing compounds and wax shipped over from Japan /china etc.. Now the stuff is like a five minute drive from where I live.. I've stocked up so much with this stuff now, I don't think I'll need any for a long time, and it's such a shame, as I would buy this just to support them.

If they would now only stock Tamiya thin Cement, Tamiya CA glue then I'd be happy.. Mind you, I've had four lots of Tamiya CA glue and two bottles of Tamiya Cement shipped from Japan as well.. Oh well..

He he - it's good that you live near them. There isn't a single model shop anywhere near me so I have to buy absolutely everything online.

I thought they sold thin cement, I'm sure I've bought some from them before but just checked and none on their site.

One of the great things about them are that they always have like stock levels!

Seriously - a great company - spend loads there! very helpful as well!

They USED to be great! At the turn of the year I ordered a lot of supplies from them - mainly Tamiya Acrylics - because you got free postage with orders over £15. They have now been sneaky and changed the free postage to orders over £50 - I've not ordered from them since.

Re: Live in the UK - Problems with getting Tamiya supplies?

I have always ordered from Models in Motion up to now, but now there is actually a place to order Tamiya compound and wax from instead of ordering it from a guy on eBay in Hong Kong I normally use. Tamiya enamels are useful too, I'll remember that, thanks.

Yes they did.. Now you have to make the order up to £50 to get free postage... I'm gonna start using Models for Sale anyhow. I can collect from them, so will save me postage charges anyhow. Glad that we know have somewhere to buy some of the more hard to find Tamiya Supplies..
