Re: Model shop?

I haven't but $10.48 USD for the Tamiya S2000 and $15.35 for the F1 Ferrari sound like pretty good deals.......

I started a thread over on the R/C section of this forum about eTamiya.com:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=380849

Basically, they provided me with one of the most frustrating on-line purchase processes I have EVER had.

Basic story: Ordered a few Tamiya Hop-Ups (R/C car upgrade parts) as the price seemed really good. My card was charged immediately, and a package arrived a week later. Unfortunately one one of three items were present. I contacted them immediately and they said the other parts were out of stock (no stock indication on the website or invoice) but would be available soon.
I then waited. And waited. And waited.
After THREE MONTHS I contacted them again, they eventually replied saying they would dispatch immediately. After another three weeks nothing had arrived so I got back in contact and they said that the Hong Kong postal service had lost the parcel and they would re-send.
I waited another three weeks, still nothing.
Remember all this time they had already charged me for the outstanding goods.
After this I sent an email every day for about a month asking for my parts or my money back.
EVENTUALLY they sent one correct part and one "similar product" (nothing like it) with a rather half-hearted apology and an on-line voucher for $25. This was EIGHT MONTHS after my original order was placed and paid for!
They can stick their voucher, and I will NEVER use them again, or recommend them to anyone else.

Sorry to ramble, just getting it off my chest. For on-line R/C parts, by the way, use Stella Models, they're awesome.

Re: Model shop?

That's one of the worst on-line purchases I have ever heard! I think you should look elsewhere Nathan!!

I ordered three kits from them a while ago.

Got the Porsche GT2, the Porsche Carrera, and the Ferrari F50.

No real complaints from me.
The shipping took a while, but coming from overseas, no worse than HLJ or Ebay from Hong Kong.

The only slight problem I had, was that to save shipping they broke down the boxes and packed everything in one box. Granted this was cheaper, but it took a few minutes to sort out which Porsche parts went to which kit.

Other than that everything arrived, undamaged, even the decals and instructions were in great shape despite their "combined shipping" method.

Not sure what the problem with the R/C parts was, but I had no trouble with my order.
