By what you posted, it seems that you are a little confused or mistyped your question. Here is some facts for you, but check out www.teamdelsol.com for a great deal of information about the del-Sol.
93 sol's had 2 models: S and Si 94-97 sol's had 3 models: S, Si, and VTEC The 94/95 VTEC models had a 1.6L b16a3 DOHC VTEC engine with 160hp. The 96/97 VTEC models had a 1.6L b16a2 DOHC VTEC engine with 160hp. The 93/95 Si models had a 1.6L d16 SOHC VTEC engine with 125hp. The 96/97 Si models had a 1.6L d16 SOHC VTEC engine with 127hp. The 93/95 S models had a 1.5L non-VTEC engine with 102hp. The 96/97 S models had a 1.6L non-VTEC engine with 106hp. The b16a3 DOHC VTEC engine is a bit more rare, since it was only offered in 94/95 sol VTEC models. It has a OBD1 computer (on board diagosis) that reduced carbons, etc. into the air for emissions. The OBD 1 computer isn't as restrictive as the OBD2 computer, so could yield different/better results if you race, etc. The b16a2 DOHC VTEC engine was offered for the 96/97 Sol VTEC models as well as the 99/00 Civic Si models. It has a OBD2 computer that is a bit more restrictive for emissions. Based on what I saw on www.teamdelsol.com the only difference that I found between the b16a3 and b16a2 was the computer and the redline. Everything else was the same, ie hp, compression, torque. Hope this helps. Blair 95 VTEC www.teamsolil.com |
