Dont Buy gas on September 3rd
Boycotting the gas company will decrease the price dramatically. Ive checked into it and if over half the US didnt buy gas for 1 day, the gas companys would be close to bankrupcy!!! So Lets show them how to lower gas prices. So repost this to all your friends. We have to get the word out. Its NATIONAL DONT BUY GAS DAY!!!
So repost it!!!

Are you sure on this one? After nobody buys gas they will decrease it but then whouldn't it be logical to increase even more to get their money back?
I whould'n mind posting this on gaspumps at my local gas station (well there a lot of them actually).

ug.

1 day wont do anything their profits or drive them anywhere near bankruptcy. oil companies are recording record profit margins, and they just got HUGE tax cuts from the government. thinking a boycott will force them to do anything is absurd. the price of gas is rising mainly because the cost of oil is increasing an ridiculous amount, and will continue to increase for the rest of our life times. it time to get used to it.

if you really want to put the gas companies in a headlock, buy a hybrid and invest in alternate energy sources. trying to boycot the one thing that keeps our economy running is ridiculous.

though it will show them that the consumer base can organize, and that might scare them a little bit...

This is being left open if you actually want to make a civil arguement about your "theory/boycott". As soon as I see a sign of anything unbecoming of a mature person, its closed.

BTW, most companies operate in a "three month" manner. IE, they have enough money backed for the business to keep itself afloat/pay employees for three months if they did zero business.

I do have my own theory though. I don't think that the price of oil is going anywhere. I think its all a big disguise by the oil companies and the government to raise profits/help the economy. No matter what, not many people in America are gonna walk to work over paying more for gas. No matter what, we are lazy enough to just shell out more money. What better way to make money than to price gouge?

I dunno how it is in the States, but in Canada, it's like 55% of the gas price goes directly to the government (taxes) at the end, the profit by the gas company is like 5%.

if everyone didnt buy gas for one day, it wouldnt affect a thing. Because the next day people will buy gas.

only way a boycott would work is if no one bought gas for weeks.....
which in no way is going to happen

just think about it for a second and do a little research.

gas prices are increasing at an outrageous amount, yet demand for oil and gas hasnt decreased for even one day. demand is STILL growing, depsite ridiculously high prices.

want to get really scared, google "peak oil" and start reading.

oil is only going up in price, its also in serious demand.. boycotting gas stations for a month might help, but then where would you buy gas?? its not a possible scenereo. you think prices are high now?? thats a joke. wait another few months and fill up.
