coilovers>spring shock combo
but it also depends on what your needs are

Re: coilovers set vs whole susp. set

I'm probably going to be trying out a spring/shock/swaybar/chassis rigity stuff soon. So I'll let you know how it goes.

i think technically anything where the spring is on top of the shock is a coilover-type setup. as opposed to them being in separate locations like some old cars have.

so buying shocks and coilovers would be excessive.

Re: coilovers set vs whole susp. set

it all depends on what you're doing the setup for and how much money you have. a daily driver setup shouldn't be a $1500 setup. i spent $850 total on my shit on ebay. just like sr20detpower said, they're an improvement over stock but how much more do you need? i can out corner almost any kid out there with any kind of car. there aren't many 300zxs or rx7s but anyone in a civic or whatnot will get smoked by a simple setup like the eibachs and kyb agxs

1115$ will buy you the best entry levels on the market.

Id rather spend 300$ more for coilovers that wont be out of they're league around corners and above 100mh

Re: coilovers set vs whole susp. set

will im still practicing how to drift (countersteer), have no lsd, waitin on the raining season again. dont want to get somethin real expensive (on a budget). so i was thinkin getting set of kyb shocks will cost bout 300, and that ground control coilover is bout 400. so estimate around 700 for the setup. is that worth it? or shall i get somethin like teins damper kit?

Re: Re: coilovers set vs whole susp. set

Uggggghhh...

SR20DETPower is pitching a full on middle of the road street setup

What im pitching is the best that will only get better with more supporting mods.

its the difference between building a shitbox to catch a supra and having a supra and making it 500 times better than what the shitbox will ever do
