94 Concorde heat/air problem

Hy,
My 94 concorde 3.5 has dceveloped an heat & air problem. I reside in Northern California, morning are just starting to get cold. For the first time since May 05 I used the defrost mode to clear my windshield in the a.m. That same afternoonm I attempted to use the A/C and I got was hot air, it appears all the heater/defrost/A/C modes work relating to upper, middle, and lower vents blowing air. The problem may be the heater control valve is stuck. Any ideas? I do not know where it is located, if behind radio in the dash, I fear I may discharge to air bag if I do something wrong while trying to get to the valve.
Please help!!! as it is approaching 100 degrees this week.

Sincerely

Conky

Re: 94 Concorde heat/air problem

do you have the manual air control or Automatic Temp control? If auto, you probably have a bad head unit. If manual, you probably have a bad vacuum motor. When you switch on the A/C, do you manually hear the compressor kicking on? If so, the head unit is ok. To access those vacuum motors, you don't have to take out the dash, you can reach from behind (after removing glove box) and access those motors.

Re: 94 Concorde heat/air problem

FREAKnasty82,

Great handle, I don't know if I want to where it came from. Thanks for the quick response, you have saved me from tearint into the dash. I have taken the Glove box door off. Lower dash panel behind glove box is restricting my view and I not seeing the vacuum motors as stated. There is a square boxmaybe 4-5 inches long with two connectors pluged into it. one with several wires and others two wires green and black. Its late but cool enough to be working on my car. I was not able to locate any info on the vacuum motors on the web. I do not have a manual, may go to the local library in the a.m. to view a Chrysler manual.

I will sent this meaaage and if you read it in the a.m., give me a hollar on what I am looking for and if I am able the vccum motors, as way to check if they are operating. My A/C kicks in when I select the A/C mode on the dash switch. My A/C is automatic.

many thanks

David D (Conky)
