Question The price of gas

How many AF members have altered their driving habits because of the rising price of gas? I really haven't but I know many who are not so well off who are already choosing to make changes, like driving different vehicles or just driving less.

Re: The price of gas

I walk everywhere as much as possible. That and I'm saving up for a motorcycle which will hopefully get 50-60 mpg

Re: The price of gas

Ive been riding my Motorcycle a bit more than the other two.. When I go on long trips I take the wrx..
I put about $50 in my truck about every other week.. I live close to work (1.5miles) so Im not really feeling the effects like my co-workers who live an hour away.. I get rebates with my shell card when I fill up over ten gallons so many times in a month.. not bad, I get coupons to use at the pump... not much but its better than nothing..

Re: The price of gas

as soon as the price hits three bucks here in Illinois (where I live anyway) I am putting my car keys on a hanger and waiting. I refuse to pay that much money for gas, so all those oil bastards can take a flying leap off a tall building. I'm sick of having to pay so damn much and recieve so damn little.

Re: The price of gas

No sense in bitching over a gallon of gas. Either you need it or you don't. And they KNOW you need it!
--- CONSPIRACY THEORY ALERT---
I think that the oil companies are all involved with the alternate fuel vehicles and keep raising the prices of oil to get us to buy this new, unproven technology.
The sad thing is all these "Hybrid" cars that are being sold today that are supposed to be better for the enviroment are no better when you factor in how to get rid of the 250+ pounds of battery acid...

Re: The price of gas

I wonder why my car is so fuel innefecient. I get ~17.5 mpg around town but I only have 175 hp.
