Water pump install on 99 GA

Was just looking for some advice on installing a water pump in a 99 GA 2.4 liter, 4cylinder. Ive recieved some pricey quotes from mechanics but Ive also heard that it is a pain in the butt to do it yourself. Does anyone have any recommendations, or helpful advice? Thanks

Re: Water pump install on 99 GA

Welcome to Forums! It is buried in the timing chain cover. So you need to remove that, the tensioner, the inlet pipe that goes to the heater core, and the metal pipe that goes to the thermostat, I would change that too while you had it apart. If u dont remove the tensioner the WP will be stuck inside the timing chain housing. Its not an easy job thats for sure, not like the V6 models they're easy.
