87 635 CSi Auto, what to check & do first

Hello one and all, I purchased my first BMW, a 1987 635CSI, auto, 117K miles, runs fantastic and I am in love with the car, just wanted to get some advice on what should be gone over and checked out to keep the car in top form, also, it seems the windshield washer "squirters" are not working, any ideas on where i should start to look to correct this minor issue. Thank you, Craig

Hello, I paid far too much for a much-mistreated car but I love her to bits too - still a way to go in sorting her out.

My squirters also didn't work, and I'm yet to sort that one out (hopefully someone will come up with a solution here!) but in the meantime, I use the concentrated clean, the one that is supposed to do the headlights too (but that bit doesn't work). I just fill up the small reservoir instead of the big one, and push in the stalk instead of pulling it back to squirt. Needs filling a lot though.

Well, I figured out the squirter issue, wax was built up in the nozzles, got three of the four working just dandy by cleaning them with a pin, need to work on number four a bit more.

Thumbs up Clean Out Sunroof drains

Congradulations! Im on my second 6 now and save your seats before the weather runs crummy. I like a degreaser (Palmolive works wonders) and a heavy gage wire. Push throuhg the holes up there under the sunroofand it will come out the bottom of the car. There's 4 of them : the front 2 are easy but the back two require removal of the sunroof.
