surprise, surprise
So, i'm in my 93 f-150 with a 4.9L straight six (planning on dropping a 460 in there in the next couple months), not fast but it has an ass of torque. Anyway, I pull up to a light an there's a van next to me, i believe it was a safari or something like that. He asked me if i wanted to race and i said, "yeah sure, you'll prolly kick my ass but it should be fun." Well, next thing i know this guy begins doing something with his hands and all i here is a psssshhhh noise. Apparently this guy had a nitrous setup in his van. So at this moment i'm thinking..."dear god." then the light turned green, his tires lit up, and he kicked the living shit outta me. we got to the next light and i asked him while trying not to laugh, "What the hell?" Then he just laughed and said he wanted to have some fun with his van.
Nothing too fast and furious but i figured it was worth posting. That guys van could most likely beat all the damn ricers in this area. |

Re: surprise, surprise
People used to drop small blocks in the older safari vans, it wouldn't surprise me to much. Nice find

Re: surprise, surprise
350 bored and stroked to a 402 + cyntrifical blower + Astro van = 11.35 1/4 mile...
i dont remember at what speed but the guy said that he put maybe 19k into the whole thing, van and all, 17.5k of which was motor, tranny, rear end, and tires. and from the ouside it looked completly stock other than lowered a bit and some big ass drag radials tucked under the wheel wells... |

Holy shit man...... Imagine that smoking your 03 Cobra....... Or your Evo..... Hell, even your 06 Vette...... I think If I lined up with a van and got smoked, I'd probably sell my car and stop racing.

well, i tend to do some racing with my parents van. its a 2005 toyota sienna. ts pretty quick ive gotta say. its AWD and a v6. every car i see that has an exhaust on it i race it to see if they are really good. i even took it to the track once to see what it runs, and it ran like a 15.8 stock. It sure as hell beats my car lol. It really fun to do an awd launch on a civic/accord/prelude/integra and see what they look like ater i beat them, or if its close. if it was mine, I'd just do some basic bolt on's to it and it'll be pretty quick. What would u do if you were pulled on by a van and couldn't catch up?
