overheating issues on an 89-need help!!!

overheating issue- I live in AZ, so overheating is not out of the ordinary but i have had this jeep for 3 years and this is the first with problems. I have changed the thermostat, bought a bigger radiator(3 core), changed the hoses, fluid, rad. cap and still have issues. sometimes it is ok and will not overheat but for the most part it overheats. I have run out of ideas. Anyone know what it might be?

I'd take a look at and think about changing the thermostat and the water pump. Seems you've done everything else.

Oh yeah, is there a shroud on the fan, or is it open? A shroud will increase your airflow and help with cooling.

Shroud will cause overheating at idle. Mine has no shroud and over-heats at idle. But never will moving all the time like on the highway.

OK I have changed the Thermostat, Can the water pump go out with actually bursting?
How can you tell if it is the fan clutch? Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips as to how to tell when it is going out?
The jeep will overheat especially when running on the highway. It does not have a leaky head, I have checked oil and have checked tail pipe. Thanks for the great tips!

The fan clutch is on the fan right behind the fan blades, which has 4 bolts to belt pully. Could be the water pump, easy enough fix, just replace it.

Are you'r belt(s) tight? Are they squeeking?
